WRIGHT Estella J. dates gone

UPDATED 12/2/2000, by Linda Auer:

Wright, Rebecca - no changes or additions

Wright, Albert - Inscription at bottom of stone reads "___________ sort long time I live, physicians were in vain, Till God was pleased to give me rest and free me from my pain". Note - I couldn't figure out what first word was, only that it possibly ended in icas.

Wright, Laura - no changes or additions
Note - there is an inscription at bottom of stone, but shaving cream did not fill in the letters. I tried, but couldn't make it out.

Wright, Mary J. - Her correct age when died is "aged 34 years, 7 months.
(Stone has sunken in ground so we couldn't read days)

Wright, Estella J - (this should be next on the list) We were able to read most of the inscription. "Estella J. daughter of Erastus & Mary Wright Died Dec. 8, 1860 Age 1 month & 3 days. Also an infant brother died Dec. 20. (Stone has sunken in ground so don't know if her brother's name was inscribed)

Wright, Caroline G. - Her correct age when died is "aged 22 years, 1 month and 26 days." The inscription below this reads "Friends in physicians could not save this mortal body from the grave, Nor can s_____ grace continue it here when Christ shall call it to appear" (Possibly the word I couldn't make out is "saving," but I don't know.)

(Note from co-coordinator Martha: William Fee was the first person put to death in Wayne County. He and another man were accused of accosting and brutally murdering a homeless woman who had sought shelter in the south-east corner of Galen, within a mile east of my ancestors' Lamb farm near the little bridge. Fee and his companion fled to New York City but were caught and returned to Wayne County. Although there were no witnesses to the actual deed, Fee had been observed by several witnesses harassing and following her down the road; screams were heard, and her body found shortly thereafter. Insisting upon his innocence to the end, Fee was publicly hung in Lyons after a widely publicized and standing room only trial. His companion was acquitted and immediately left the area.)
